In addition to his role as a scientist he has been studying Martial Arts for the island of Okinawa for many years. He is a 7th Dan black belt from Karate and Kobudo, a member of the National Karate Degrees Court and currently heads the Kobudo Section of the Traditional Karate Department of the Royal Spanish Karate Federation.
