La sociedad mexicana comparte una cultura de anti-debate que limita el diálogo y así, las posibilidades de un mejor futuro. Tanto en redes sociales como en el ámbito político, estamos acostumbrados a basar nuestros argumentos en falacias y ataques. Sin embargo, ¡esto puede y debe cambiar! As a competitive debater, José Antonio Murillo (1999) has represented Mexico in multiple international tournaments, including the World Schools Debating Championships, where he earned the award of 7th best speaker in English as a Second Language. Also, in 2016 he was Captain of Team Mexico at the USA Nationals. His debating experience has inspired him to use his leadership positions in his community to seek change through discourse and dialogue. Additionally, Jose has a strong interest in economics and computer science, which has encouraged him to develop a java-based macroeconomics simulator and to research inconsistencies in currency markets and ADR trades. José Antonio will graduate from Harvard College in 2022 and plans to major in both of these disciplines.
