Draw Tip Tuesdays - Why Quick Sketches Look More Lively

I always carry my sketchbook, even when I don’t know if I’ll actually draw. The trick is to stay curious and keep your eyes open, because there are drawing opportunities everywhere. In this Draw Tip Tuesday, I share how a simple walk in town led me to sketch a parked truck I stumbled upon. I’ll show you how I use negative space, why speed and fluency help keep a sketch lively, and how drawing has become a way of truly living more fully. I also talk about how my practice started years ago, and how it continues to make me more present in everyday life. At the end, I give you an assignment for your own sketchbook practice: Take a short walk, choose a different route, and let your curiosity guide you.
