Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday! Here’s your weekly dose of inspiration to make art. One drawing at a time. Brought to you by Sketchbook Skool! Today we’ll use watercolors, Water and a brush. And then later we’ll add pen lines too - any pen will do. Here’s a great way to make a very quick piece of art with great result. Wet your brush and pick up some paint from your palette. Now, without thinking too much about it, put dabs of paint onto your page. I’m choosing yellow, red and green. The more water you use, the lighter the colors will become. When using less water, the colors will be more dense. This is really fun to do if you don’t know what to draw, or if you want to test your paint palette, or for a handmade postcard. The recipient will be delighted! Now that you filled your page with different dashes of color, let it dry well. Once the paint has dried completely, pick up a black pen - any kind of pen will do. I am using a medium sized fineliner. Start drawing shapes on top of the paint blobs - could be anything you feel like. I am choosing a citrus theme, by drawing a pattern of grapefruit slices, lime wedges and lemons. What kind of colorful collection or pattern will you come up with? Will it be food related? I am very excited to teach an online class that’s all about foodie-art! It’s called Draw It Like It’s Hot, and it starts this Friday in Sketchbook Skool. Don’t miss out!
