Draw Tip Tuesdays - Depth Made Easy: ONE SIMPLE Trick for Better Drawings

Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday! Let’s shake things up! When winter keeps us indoors, it's easy to feel uninspired. But a small change in your tools can bring a whole new perspective to your drawings! Instead of my usual fountain pen and watercolors, I’m using just black and grey—a Staedtler pigment liner (chisel tip) and a Palomino Blackwing pencil. This limited set of tools is a great way to focus on depth, contrast, and texture, without using color. Follow along as I draw a simple still life and show you how these tools can boost your creativity! Materials used in this video: -Handbook Journal, size A5 -Staedtler pigment liner (chisel tip 0.3-2.0) -Palomino Blackwing pencil -Reference photo by Dayne Topkin on Unsplash.com If you need an assignment this week, here it is: - Grab a chunky black pen and a pencil - Pick a subject—from life or a reference photo, it doesn't matter - Use the pen for the foreground and the pencil for the background - Play with pressure and layering your pencil to create depth and contrast Have fun experimenting!
