Draw Tip Tuesday - a Recipe Video Transcript Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday! Today I'm doing a quick illustrated recipe. For that, I will use a pencil, watercolors, a brush and water. This Beet gazpacho is the easiest recipe in the world, and very good! First of all, I will pencil in my recipe. The beetroots could also be mistaken for onions, but you will see, that will be fixed by adding color later. Instead of writing down, I illustrate that the beets should be cut up. I draw the elements in such a way that it visually indicates what to do. Of course I can add text as well. With the cord of the hand blender, I create a little frame around the items . I trace my sketchy lines now. You can do this with a water-resistant ink as well, but today I choose to combine graphite with watercolor. Up to you whichever tools you use. Then, with the color added, everything will come together. I have this dark pink in my palette that I can use straight, without mixing other colors in. It's a ... See? perfect beet color. Now you see what I mean - the color makes up for any inconsistency and nobody will think these are onions anymore! I color in the rest, just plain an simple and pretty straightforward. On the right, I left some room for the ingredients, and some instructions. Plus the recipe title of course. Do you have a simple recipe? Try your hand at illustrating it! If you need some help with it, you could go to my website koosjekoene.nl and join my online workshop on drawing food and illustrating recipes. It starts on Monday, so you'll be right in time! Maybe I'll see you in class.
