Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday! Today we’ll be using watercolors, water and some brushes - oh and a waterproof pen which I forgot to show you here! Choose an item to draw - it doesn’t matter what. I choose to draw a brush. It has a fairly simple shape and is pretty straight forward. I draw the outlines, and t give it some weight, I add a cast shadow. Then I pick up my watercolors and start mixing and coloring. If I want light colors, I add more water, If I want denser colors at the darker, shaded side, i simply add a little more paint. The lighter and darker bits will tear into each other when they are still wet - just let the paint do its job. For shiny highlights: I keep bits of white. When the paint has dried, you can et back in for another layer, this time using a smaller size brush, and picking upping with less water. Then hatch your way through the shading, using dense colors and looking at your subject for reference. Don’t touch the white areas, they will pop out as highlights. You can add a little watercolor for the cast shadow as well. What a difference colour makes to a simple, not-so-interesting-looking line drawing! Why don’t you try this yourself? I am pretty sure you will make awesome art! If you want to learn more, head on over to my website koosjekoene.nl and join one of my classes today!
