Draw Tip Tuesdays - Draw a Moment, Not a Masterpiece

Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday! Want to sketch without the pressure of filling a full page? Draw vignettes and free yourself from having to draw it all. In this video, I’ll show you how to capture a moment quickly using a fun, loose drawing style. I use a photo for inspiration, and bring the drawing to life with a mix of watercolors, crayons, and colored pencils. You’ll see how I build a simple vignette, adding color, layers, and lively marks without overthinking. Maybe I'm overworking the piece, but at least I'm not overthinking! Whether you're new to sketching or want to loosen up your drawing process, this approach will help you stay playful and present on the page. Keep it simple. Use loose, expressive lines. Let the edges fade out to create a vignette. Focus on a few key details, and leave space around it. Experiment with contrast and color.
