Watch Out For These 5 Management Practices 🎶Music by Vitalii Vakulenko from Pixabay what's going on this is Markie Williams and welcome to my channel regarding online certification courses. Allow me to break down these courses and what they consist of. This is a channel where you can learn a new skill set or brush up on an old one. continuous education and improvement should always be priority if you want to stay current in your field of work and plus get paid your worth. lets get started. If you ever jumped on TikTok and start scrolling you will eventually come to quite of few gripes about management and how they conduct themselves or collaborate with their employees. From micromanaging to bullying this is still going on currently at businesses small and large. Many of these management practices goes undocumented for the simple fact a lot of these employees simply needs the job. so allow me to give a run down management practices you need to look out for before you get too rooted in your position. Meaning don't observe certain types of behavior from management and just think it's a one off or it has nothing to do with you, because eventually somewhere down the line it may be you. Failing To Communicate: When management is not providing clear instructions or updates to task and when get questioned be the employee they fly off the handle. In return employees may just keep quiet which will lead to confusion and inefficiency. Lack Of Feedback: When you notice management is quicker to provide negative feedback of a situation over failing to provide constructive criticism or recognition for good work. or maybe management doesn't really know the true definition of constructive criticism. For example management may say great work on the presentation today, very detailed but I've notice a few areas in your presentation where you could improve clarity. Failing To Train Employees: Great companies have an onboarding process but if they don't, Department managers should have one in place for their new employees. Not providing the necessary resources or training to help employees succeed is a definite set up for failure. New Employees may feel left out or feel like it will take forever to get up to speed and may eventually quit. Excessively Focusing On Punitive Actions- When management Excessively Focusing On Punitive Actions at the workplace and I'm talking about Disciplinary action: Demotion, Suspension, or Termination of an employee for misconduct or poor performance. A lot of times management take this route to show others what the consequences will be. The other approach to this is to find the root of the problem or issue as to why an employee is late often or the work isn't getting done on time or accurately. You may find out a work life balance issue or management instructions or lack off may be the problem. These issues can be corrected Vs. write up or suspensions. Ignoring Signs Of Overwork: This is a crucial one when management is overlooking burnout and stress in employees. This can result in injuries, productivity decline, and a very disgruntle employee. Take time to observe your Team to see if there's something bothering them, do they need some time off, can management fully admit there is a workload they're taken on is too much. Is it something outside of work that got them stress. You as management should have enough empathy to look into these types of scenarios and try to assist in resolving them. It's not all about the numbers. It's about making those numbers in the most safe, informative, and productive way.
