So let's get started. I was playing around with Google to see what's my next tutorial will be and since I dabble with online certification courses in any current situations when it comes to the labor force, I wanted to see what is going to be the next big work trend of 2024. In the first page of Google, I'm dancing around what I see EVP, which stands for employee value proposition. Also on there is a new manager's necessities and how AI is reshaping the workforce.
I was familiar with them all except for the employee value proposition one. So when it comes to implementing employee value proposition or EVP, it has to do with the deeper dive into the workforce, the work life balance and along with actually treating the workers as human beings, strange as that sound, management, comment below as to what you guys actually thought of us all this time. Anywho, the definition for EVP goes like this. An employee value proposition is the unique set of benefits that an employee receives and returns for the skills, capabilities and experience they bring to a company.
They also go on to say the five pillar of an EVP that attracts and retains top talent. It's compensation, candidates and employees care about compensation, but it's just not the only factor when making an employee decision. Total reward package, career advancement and opportunities, contribution to the world and culture. So if you think of all these years that went by and I'm talking about 10 to 20 years ago and now is it becoming a trend, to be honest, I'm pretty sure it has to do with the pandemic that took place and now the employees were being treated prior to that and then a lot of them got shafted and was left without a paycheck.
But when the companies were trying to reel them back in, the ex employees finally flipped off their companies and left them high and dry and went elsewhere for employment. Going forward, I'm thinking a lot of companies needed to revamp their culture, their mission statement, work like balance when it comes to their employees and their well-being. So people also ask, what is the new employee value proposition? The answer to that question goes like this.
Your EVP typically includes the benefits, financial rewards, career development opportunities and additional perks employees receive. It also mentions your company value and vision. The goal of that EVP is to make employees excited to work for your company and it can help build your employee's brand. Some of the seven steps to creating a great EVP is to survey your employees, communicate with your EVP, evaluate your currently offer and is it competitive, and even write your employee's value proposition.
If done correctly, you can boost employees engagement and attract significant talent and reduce employees turnover rate. It's about time. Kudos to those smart companies. My personal take on this is that companies started noticing and realizing when their employees were laid off or fired.
Thinking, management was going to roll up their sleeves and step in the fill in the gaps failed. That company's needed to shift their focus on who's really doing all the work and who is willing to step in and do the work. Many thanks for taking some time to check my tutorial out.
