Short lecture on chemical equivalence in NMR. Nuclei which are chemically equivalent (i.e. the same magnetic shielding constant) that couple their nuclear spins results in an equal increase in all energy levels, leaving the NMR spectrum unaffected, and the magnetic resonance peaks non-split.
