Welcome to Week 7 Tutorial 1 of the course "Mathematics for Data Science I" by Profs. Neelesh Upadhye, Madhavan Mukund. We begin by identifying the number of turning points and roots, then use these features to determine the minimum possible degree of the polynomial. We also study the end behavior of the function and examine how the sign of the leading coefficient influences the graph. This session shows how to read a polynomial’s characteristics directly from its graph and apply this knowledge to algebraic reasoning.
