By expressing SSE as a function of c, the problem reduces to solving a quadratic equation. We then identify the optimal value of c by locating the vertex of the parabola, ensuring the minimum SSE. This session connects concepts of curve fitting, optimization, and regression, providing a practical example of applying algebra to data analysis.
