The task is to calculate the effective manufacturing cost for three different processes, taking into account both production costs and waste management costs, each modeled as polynomials of raw material cost x. By analyzing and comparing these polynomial cost functions across varying raw material prices per kilo, we determine the most optimal manufacturing process. This problem highlights the application of polynomial functions in engineering economics and decision-making.
