We work through examples to show how this technique transforms a quadratic into a perfect square trinomial, making it easier to find roots. The method is compared to factoring and is highlighted as especially useful when factoring is difficult. We also discuss how completing the square connects naturally to the quadratic formula, building a deeper understanding of quadratic equations and their solutions.
