In this problem we desire to make a final binary mixture with specified total volume and composition by mixing pure component 1 and 2. We are provided with the molar and partial molar volumes of component 1 and 2, and asked to determine the total volume of component 1 and 2 needed. A copy of the problem statement and my solutions may be found below. If you are in my chemical engineering thermodynamics class (Fall 2023), this is Chapter 9, Problem 1.
