Before we discuss activity coefficients in details, we will first take an aside and try to make the connection to the fugacity coefficient... and even the Poynting correction. A challenge of chemical engineering thermodynamics is the number of equations that seem unrelated to each other. Our goal here is to try and show how everything is related.
