In this screencast I work through an example problem in which we need to determine the change in entropy for a process wherein we split a stream containing a binary gas. This involves computing the pure component entropy of each component in each phase, the ideal gas entropy of mixing, and putting it all together with the provided residual entropy. Fun! If you are in my Fall 2023 Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics course, this corresponds to Problem 3 from Chapter 9.
