Chad provides a lesson on Simple Harmonic Motion (SHM)I. The sinusoidal equations for the position, velocity, and acceleration of an object undergoing simple harmonic motion are presented, derived, and their use is demonstrated. Chad demonstrates how to identify the amplitude and the frequency factor from the equations, and then how to use them to identify the frequency and period of oscillation and the max velocity and max acceleration. He also shows the relationship between the frequency factor and the spring constant and mass for a mass on a spring and between the frequency factor and the acceleration due to gravity and the length of a pendulum. The lesson is concluded with several simple harmonic motion practice problems solved for the student. 00:00 Lesson Introduction 01:00 Introduction to Simple Harmonic Motion (SHM) 02:08 Position Function for SHM (x=Acoswt) 04:36 SHM Velocity and Acceleration Functions 09:08 SHM Frequency, Time Period, and Frequency Factor 13:27 Frequency Factor for Springs and Pendulums 20:26 Simple Harmonic Motion Practice Problems Solved Check out Chad's General Physics Master Course: https://www.chadsprep.com/physics-youtube #generalphysics #physicstutorial
