Centripetal Force and Centripetal Acceleration Chad provides a thorough lesson on Centripetal Force and Acceleration. He first introduces circular motion and uniform circular motion and shows the instantaneous tangential velocity and the centripetal acceleration that points toward the center of the circular motion. He than provides the formula for centripetal acceleration (a=v^2/r) and the formula for centripetal force (F=mv^2/r). He finally introduces the concepts of tangential acceleration and total acceleration in circular motion (and nonuniform circular motion in particular). Chad devotes the rest of the lesson to solving centripetal force and acceleration practice problems. He begins with a yoyo undergoing circular motion on a string, and how the string provides the centripetal force. Next, he solves a classic centripetal force problem involving solving the normal force between a the track and a roller coaster car on a loop-d-loop. The last problem involves circular motion with a tangential acceleration, in which he calculates the centripetal acceleration, the tangential acceleration, and the total acceleration. 00:00 Lesson Introduction 00:49 Circular Motion, Tangential Velocity, and Centripetal Acceleration 02:44 Centripetal Force 03:38 Centripetal Force and Acceleration Formulas 05:47 Tangential Acceleration and Total Acceleration 07:59 Centripetal Force and Acceleration Problem: Tension in a String 12:53 Centripetal Force and Acceleration Problem: Loop-d-Loop 22:40 Centripetal, Tangential, and Total Acceleration in Circular Motion Problem Check out Chad's General Physics Master Course: https://www.chadsprep.com/physics-youtube #generalphysics #physicstutorial
