Chad provides a lesson on the Polarization of Light. The lesson begins with the polarization of unpolarized light, and the formula for the polarization of unpolarized light shows that half of the incident unpolarized light is transmitted through a polarizing filter. The formula for the polarization of already polarized light (Malus' Law) is then presented which shows that the amount of the incident light that is transmitted through the filter is dependent upon the angle between the orientation of the polarized light and the angle of the filter. If their orientations are aligned then effectively all the incident light is transmitted through the filter at a maximum, and if their orientations are 90 degrees apart then none of the incident light is transmitted through the filter at a minimum. 00:00 Lesson Introduction 01:15 Polarization of Unpolarized Light 02:26 Polarization of Polarized Light (Malus' Law) 05:12 Polarization of Light Practice Problem Check out Chad's General Physics Master Course: https://www.chadsprep.com/physics-youtube #generalphysics #physicstutorial
