Chad provides a lesson on Electric Potential and Electric Potential Energy. The formula for the electric potential of a point charge is first provided along with a couple of examples of its use. Chad then shows how to calculate the locations in space where the electric potential is zero. The relationship between electric potential, electric potential energy, and work for point charges is then derived along with a solved example problem. A similar relationship between the change in electric potential energy and the electric potential difference is also shown. A description of equipotential lines and equipotential surfaces is then given, and it is shown that the change in electric potential energy of a point charge moving along an equipotential surface is zero as the potential difference is also zero. The lesson is concluded by calculating the potential energy of a system of point charges. 00:00 Lesson Introduction 01:01 Electric Potential of a Point Charge 05:20 Determine Where the Electric Potential is Zero 11:52 Electric Potential, Potential Energy, and Work 22:40 Conservation of Mechanical Energy Problem 31:03 Determine the Potential Energy of a System of Point Charges Check out Chad's General Physics Master Course: https://www.chadsprep.com/physics-youtube #generalphysics #physicstutorial
