In this lesson Chad provides an introduction to a chapter on electric forces and fields with a lesson on charge, conductors and insulators. A description of charge is first given explaining how opposite charges attract, while like charges repel. The SI unit of charge, the Coulomb is introduced as is the fundamental charge, 1.602x10^-19C which is the magnitude of the charge on a proton and an electron. Chad concludes the lesson by defining conductors and insulators and distinguishing between charging by conduction and charging by induction. He then solves an example involving charging by conduction that demonstrates the conservation of charge. 00:00 Lesson Introduction 00:40 Opposite Charges Attract; Like Charges Repel 02:16 Fundamental Charge, Protons, and Electrons 04:56 Conductors and Insulators 06:42 Charging by Conduction and Charging by Induction 09:52 Charging by Conduction and Conservation of Charge Problem Check out Chad's General Physics Master Course: https://www.chadsprep.com/physics-youtube #generalphysics #physicstutorial
