Presenter: Heather Benucci Oral production can be one of the most challenging aspects of language learning. English language learners (ELLs) must take social risks to use English in front of others, recall vocabulary and grammar to build context-appropriate messages, and physically form sounds to create comprehensible output … it’s no wonder that some learners are hesitant to speak in class! This session will explore classroom management and interaction strategies teachers can use to elicit meaningful oral language and to create student groups that promote active communication in a supportive environment.
