Presenter: Hetal Ascher This webinar will model and explore a four-part, interactive teaching and learning cycle that can strengthen students’ emerging academic writing skills. Together, we will review key teaching and learning cycle components, including (1) background building, (2) text modeling, (3) joint construction, and (4) independent construction. We'll then examine effective activities that build background knowledge and consider a systematic process for highlighting key language to students. By the end of the session, we'll all be able to describe key features of effective joint construction activities.
