Presenter: Adrienne Johnson Young students are naturally curious. Encouraging children’s questions and curiosity is the first step to teaching them how to think critically about the world around them. Teaching critical thinking skills to young learners provides an important foundation for media literacy, working with people from diverse backgrounds, complex academic thinking, and more. To develop these critical thinking skills, teachers can provide frequent opportunities to explore different perspectives, ask questions, gather information, and discuss their thinking with others. In this session, participants will learn how to use simple visuals, comics, and interactive activities to help young children to develop basic critical thinking skills while teaching English language skills.
