In this video we’ll get set up JUMPING using Unity 6's new input system. We'll also add customizability, so we can have variable jump height depending on how long we hold the button down, AND we'll give the ability to set different gravity scales for rising vs. falling. In the next video, we’ll add some animations to get this guy looking a little less stiff! In this series, we're going to create a beginner-friendly, Metroidvania. We'll start simple, but add complexity as we go, refactoring our code to keep it modular and readable! I've already planned videos on: - Player Controller - Tilemapping - Cinemachine Camera - Locked Doors and Chests - Mini Map - Combat System - Health System (with UI) - Magic Spells Planned Release of Ep. #03: Tuesday, September 2, 2025 I'm planning to release one video a week until the series is complete.
