「Learn Japanese」 Using adjectives as adverbs The Japanese language has a relatively simple method for modifying adjectives into adverbs that mirrors the English language’s method, such as when changing the adjective “technical” into the adverb “technically” by simply adding a suffix to the stem word. For い-Adjectives, we simply add く to the stem of the respective adjective. Example(s): 遅い – slow, 遅く – slowly よい – good, よく – well For な-Adjectives, we simply add に to the stem of the respective adjective.
