「Learn Japanese」 ふしがある as “there are indications that～, it seems that～” The word 節 (ふし) can be defined as “indication,” “notable characteristic,” “point that lingers on in the heart (心がとまるような点).” When used together with the がある (the fundamental way to express the existence of something), it forms the grammar pattern that expresses the meaning of “there are indications that～,” or, “it seems that～.” Due to the somewhat unnaturalness of the former definition and the expression itself being somewhat archaic and idiomatic, translations generally lean towards the latter definition and similar wording to it such as “I think that～.” Construction: PLAIN-FORM (VERB/ADJECTIVE) + ふしがある Example(s): 彼は、僕をチームメイトとして認めていないふしがある。 Kare wa, boku o teammate toshite mitomete inai fushi ga aru.
