The session begins with a quick recap of core statistical concepts such as the branches of statistics, the difference between samples and populations, and various methods of data collection. We then review data types (numerical and categorical), measurement scales (nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio), and descriptive measures such as mode and median. The lecture’s main focus is on organizing numerical data — both discrete and continuous — using frequency tables. You’ll also learn how to create grouped data tables and visualize them through histograms and stem-and-leaf plots. By the end of this session, you’ll have a strong foundation in organizing, summarizing, and interpreting numerical datasets.
