Naming Ionic Compounds Chad covers the IUPAC rules for naming ionic compounds in chemistry in this lesson as well as chemical formula writing from the name. He first introduces how to identify ionic and molecular compounds and binary acids and oxyacids based upon chemical formulas as each of these classes of compounds has a different set of IUPAC rules for nomenclature. Chad covers numerous examples including all of the following: Naming Simple Binary Ionic Compounds Naming Binary Ionic Compounds with Transition Metals Naming Ionic Compounds with Roman Numerals Naming Ionic Compounds with Polyatomic Ions Chad also includes a list of polyatomic ions to memorize and demonstrates chemical formula writing for ionic compounds with polyatomic ions. I've embedded this playlist as a course on my website with all the lessons organized by chapter in a collapsible menu and much of the content from the study guide included on the page.
