Stay tuned to the end for a chance to win a prize! For today's 4MFS, we're lighting for story and location. It sounds pretty obvious, but holding those two key elements in high regard will lead to a great-looking sequence. The story is about a disguised hitman having breakfast, who is waiting for his target to show up at the diner. DP/host Kevin Reyes took the location and used the tools at his disposal to extend the natural look of daylight. The look is simple, but the setup is anything but. Kevin used separate daylight fixtures along with mirrors and mirror boards to shape the sun coming into the diner. He also had to cheat a shot for the location and story. All-in-all, here is everything you need to know about covering an interior daytime scene. Want more free lighting and cinematography tutorials?
