The wrong kind of relationship is where the parent is more concerned about being liked by the child than being credible or more concerned about being accepted and approved by the child than being respected. Another vital part of having the right kind of relationship with our children is that we need to be very nurturing. There are those who believe that if you have a lot of rules and a lot of expectations you're just going to make your kids rebel and they will end up as juvenile delinquents.
