Life does include periods of challenge and grief, anger and anxiety, doubt and fear; and it’s normal to not want to feel that way, but we can either respond to these difficult emotions in ways that make things worse, or we can can learn to respond with wisdom and awareness, and actually appreciate and benefit from these experiences. Mindfulness practices help bring some wisdom and insight to the experience of emotions, and allow us to observe our emotions and be informed by them instead of being completely absorbed in them or carried away by them. In this lesson we explore how to do this with challenging emotions. After you watch the video, do the guided meditation here: https://youtu.be/goC-SGbFD_E The "3 A's" and related practices are adapted from Russ Harris (ACT Made Simple), Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield, and others.
