It’s an important part of mindfulness and self-compassion practices. If you’re not devoting appropriate time to self-nurturing, you’re going to start feeling burned out, resentful, and exhausted, and then you’re also in a poor position to be there for the people around you. Many mindfulness practices contribute to self-nurturing in some form, but the RAIN practice (made popular by Tara Brach) is one in particular that I’d like to introduce you to because it’s so flexible and just incredibly helpful whenever we’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed.
