Not required for 100%, nor does it count towards any achievement. It will however unlock some social club icons. It is important you purchase sonar collection docks before completing the mission "Caida Libre" or it is possible "Death at Sea" may bug out and never appear. In the patch notes, it claims this had been fixed, but on the PC as of August 2021 I can say this is not the case and the bug is still present. Once you are done, switch to Franklin.
