PJCs, also known as premature junctional contractions (or complexes) can occur within an underlying rhythm. 🫀Nurse Sarah's ECG Study Notes: https://nursesarah.com/ PJCs are early contractions that originate from a focal point around the AV junction rather than the SA node, leading to early beats within the underlying rhythm. Premature junctional contractions (complexes) can be caused by things such as increased av authomaticity (digoxin toxicity), alcohol use, node injury, tobacco, congenital defects, and more. The symptoms can vary, and some individuals may be asymptomatic, whereas others may experience chest pain or palpitations. Treatment for PJCs can include smoking cessation, limiting alcohol, and more.
