Coccyx anatomy lecture: Learn the landmarks of the coccyx (tailbone), including the coccygeal cornua, transverse process, base, apex, and more. The coccyx is the inferior portion of the vertebral column. It is made up of 3-5 bones, which are often (but not always) fused in adults. Quiz: https://www.registerednursern.com/coccyx-bone-anatomy-quiz/ The coccyx functions to support pelvic organs, stabilization while sitting, and for the attachment of ligaments and muscles. The male coccyx is curved toward the anterior (ventral or front) side of the pelvis, whereas the female coccyx is not as curved. The coccyx can be a point of pressure ulcer formation, so it's important to note for immobile patients. #coccyx #anatomy Website: https://www.registerednursern.com/ More Videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2XMro13dD0&list=UUPyMN8DzkFl2__xnTEiGZ1w Nursing Gear: https://teespring.com/stores/registerednursern Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/registerednursern_com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RegisteredNurseRNs Twitter: https://twitter.com/NursesRN Popular Playlists: NCLEX Reviews: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQrdx7rRsKfWtwCDmLHyX2UeHofCIcgo0 Fluid & Electrolytes: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQrdx7rRsKfWJSZ9pL8L3Q1dzdlxUzeKv Nursing Skills: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQrdx7rRsKfUhd_qQYEbp0Eab3uUKhgKb
