Project Management Course - Beginner to Project Manager Project Feasibility Study Explained | Can Your Project Really Succeed? So, the business case has outlined the financials, and the scope has defined what the project will involve. Now we move into the feasibility study — an analysis of the project’s goals, scope, and resources to determine whether success is actually achievable. This is a high-level but essential step in the initiation phase. The aim isn’t deep planning yet, but rather to quickly confirm whether the project can move forward within the available time, budget, and resources. The key questions are simple, but critical: Can the organization provide the necessary budget, time, people, and management support? Do we have the required expertise in areas like engineering, IT, project management, and operations — or will we need external partners? And if so, how will we source and manage them? In our example, this could mean bringing in experienced managers from other showrooms for training, allocating HR to handle recruitment, supporting marketing with additional resources, and hiring contractors for construction work. Each element must be considered and connected. Ultimately, the feasibility study answers one question: is this project realistically achievable? If the answer is yes, then we move forward to the next crucial step — risk assessment and setting expectations.
