Welcome to Lecture 39 of the course "Programming in Python" by Prof. Sudarshan Iyengar. Full Course: https://study.iitm.ac.in/ds/course_pages/BSCS1002.html Video Overview This week we shift focus to practical Python programming. Instead of introducing new concepts the emphasis is on building coding skills and confidence by solving problems. We will work through 5 to 6 common programming tasks including the birthday paradox searching and sorting lists and basic matrix operations such as sum and product. These problems will be revisited in later weeks to optimize and improve solutions with new Python techniques. The key takeaway this week is practice practice practice. Write the same code multiple times to solidify your understanding and become comfortable with the programming environment. About IIT Madras' online Bachelor of Science programme IIT Madras offers four year BS programmes that aim to provide quality education to all irrespective of age educational background or location. The BS programme has multiple levels which provide flexibility to students to exit at any of these levels. Depending on the courses completed and credits earned the learner can receive a Foundation Certificate from IITM CODE (Centre for Outreach and Digital Education), Diploma(s) from IIT Madras or BSc/BS Degrees from IIT Madras.
