Welcome to Lecture 51 of the course "Programming in Python" by Prof. Sudarshan Iyengar. Starting with simple examples like creating an add function we gradually move towards practical cases such as calculating discounts. You will learn how to define functions pass arguments and return values. More importantly this lecture highlights how functions improve code readability reduce repetition and encourage modular programming practices. About IIT Madras' online Bachelor of Science programme IIT Madras offers four year BS programmes that aim to provide quality education to all irrespective of age educational background or location. The BS programme has multiple levels which provide flexibility to students to exit at any of these levels.
