Building on basic for loop concepts we begin by revisiting how to sum elements in a list using a loop and then extend that logic to perform component wise multiplication and summation for dot products. This exercise demonstrates how mathematical operations can be translated into code and serves as a foundational step toward understanding matrix operations an essential concept in data science. This lecture also prepares you for upcoming topics on matrix multiplication.
