Welcome to Lecture 53 of the course "Programming in Python" by Prof. Sudarshan Iyengar. Full Course: https://study.iitm.ac.in/ds/course_pages/BSCS1002.html Video Overview Welcome to Week 6 of our Python programming course. In this lecture we explore the concepts of lists and sets in Python and examine the trade offs between them. Using a simple car versus bus analogy we highlight how the right choice of data structure depends on the problem you are solving. We also analyze how the in operator behaves with lists and sets focusing on search efficiency and performance. By the end you will understand when to use a set instead of a list and vice versa for writing optimal Python code.
