The process of downloading software images to your local Docker host is called pulling. You can install Docker on Linux Ubuntu using several approaches. In our previous approach, we explained how to install Docker Desktop which the full-size Docker installation. In this tutorial, we explain how to install Docker by using apt repository. The installation by using apt repository might be more suitable for complete Docker beginners. The official installation instructions are given on the official webpage: https://docs.docker.com/engine/install/ubuntu/ Besides following these instructions, we will test the installation at the end by explaining how to pull an image of Linux Ubuntu to a local host and by trying to run Linux commands inside of a Docker container. This it the most appropriate test of the Docker installation that is not suggested on the official webpage.
