This lecture presents the derivation of generated voltage and generated torque in real DC machines.
Similar to the case of single turn of loop rotating in a uniform magnetic filed produced by curved poles, the voltage induced in real DC machines also depends upon (i) total flux in the machine (ii) speed of rotation of rotor and (iii) construction (number of poles, type of winding) of the machine.
