It’s business as usual for the cartels, as Customs and Border Protection discover the petrol tanks oa long-distance truck are full of liquid methamphetamine. Meanwhile at another bridge 16.5kg of cocaine is found concealed in a pick-up truck driven by a young unemployed man. In Brownsville officers must solve the mystery of three men who have arrived at the bridge wearing identical clothes. After it’s discovered that two of the men have been in the US illegally and have criminal records, suspicion grows that they’ve been smuggling drugs across the river. In Progreso a 19-year-old is caught smuggling Xanax pills in his underwear. He claims it’s his first time – but after incriminating evidence is found on his phone, it becomes clear he is an established dealer. Officers offer him the chance to be spared prosecution, if he gives up the name of his supplier. At Hidalgo bridge a driver is caught attempting to smuggle a highly unusual cargo – a collection of dozens of rare lizards and snakes. The man admits to being paid to cross the creatures by a local kingpin in the exotic animal trade, who is already under investigation.
