Class opens with a brief guided meditation with a body scan. Then we learned and practiced other ways to settle the mind to prepare it for practice: ujjaii breath; alternate nostril breath; counting breath with retention, and closing with a loving kindness (metta) mediation. [The final meditation is incomplete, as the recorder's battery died. Next week will include a shorter version of this practice.]
