Orthotropic materials and isotropic materials are introduced using the stress-strain relations and the Hooke's law as special cases of anisotropic materials. Fiber reinforced composite materials are orthotropic materials. Metals such as Aluminum, Titanium and Steel are isotropic materials. Young's modulus, shear modulus and Poisson's ratio are explained.
