DSA stands for Data Structures and Algorithms. It refers to a set of techniques and methods used to organise and manipulate data in a computer program. Data structures are a way of organising and storing data in a way that enables efficient access and modification, while algorithms are a set of instructions that perform a specific task or solve a problem. Types of DSA There are many types of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) including arrays, linked lists, stacks, queues, trees, graphs, hash tables, and sorting and searching algorithms. Each DSA has its own strengths and weaknesses and is suitable for different types of data processing and storage needs. Applications of DS Data Structures have a wide range of applications in computer science, including database management, algorithm design and analysis, operating systems, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and web development. They are used to store, organise, and manipulate large amounts of data efficiently and effectively, enabling faster and more accurate processing of information. What are Arrays? Arrays are a data structure that stores a collection of values of the same type. They are often used to organise and manipulate large amounts of data in computer programming and provide a convenient way to access and modify individual elements within the array. What is a linked list? A linked list is a linear data structure where each element is a separate object. Linked list elements are not stored at a contiguous location; the elements are linked using pointers. Each node of a list is made up of two items - the data and a reference to the next node. The last node has a reference to null. The entry point into a linked list is called the head of the list. It should be noted that the head is not a separate node, but a reference to the first node. If the list is empty then the head is a null reference.
