We continue with our series of Student Lectures with this first lecture in the 2nd year Course on Differential Equations. Professor Philip Maini begins with a recap of the previous year's work before moving on to give examples of ordinary differential equations which exhibit either unique, non-unique, or no solutions. This leads us to Picard's Existence and Uniqueness Theorem. All first and second year lectures are followed by tutorials where students meet their tutor to go through the lecture and associated problem sheet and to talk and think more about the maths. Third and fourth year lectures are followed by classes. This latest student lecture is the fifth in our series shining a light on the student experience in Oxford Mathematics.
